I absolutely LOVE the late summer August sun in the evening. It provides such beautiful and soft light for photo shoots and last night was beautiful! Jeanette, Kima, and I went out last night for their Engagement Session, which was a lot of fun. We walked around DT Snohomish, which is such a great location for shoots. LOVE newborn sessions! This 7-day old beautiful baby girl came up from Maple Valley, WA for her newborn session today. She's such a little peanut and only weighed 7lbs 5oz when she was born. Itty bitty! Congratulations to Marla, Mike, and new BIG brother Gabe! She's beautiful!

This sweet couple traveled up from the Portland, OR area to have me photograph this incredible road to parenthood that they are on. I have known the daddy-to-be for years and had the privelege of photographing his brother's little over a year ago. So when the beautiful mommy-to-be, Anna asked me to document this amazing journey, I was thrilled and couldn't wait! We shot their maternity session at Kirkland's Juanity Bay Park. There are SO many incredible backdrops at this park but one of my favorite images was when I layed on my back and pointed my camera up to the sky using the sunlight to show off Anna's baby bump. August 14th was a very special wedding for me. Not only did I get to watch my beautiful cousin, Brianna, marry the man that she loves, but I was given the great honor of photographing her day. I only choked up once during the ceremony {which, if you know me, is amazing!} During the vows Brianna started to tear up and it got me. She was a BEAUTIFUL bride and everything about her day went exactly the way she had planned. Brianna, I am SO proud to call you my cousin. Really, we are more like sisters... Besides your wedding day, bring {new life} into this world is nothing short of a miracle and is such an AMAZING experience! So when asked by an expectant mother to capture this incredible journey, I get so excited and feel truly honored to be a part of this road to motherhood with them. What a fun wedding! My cheeks hurt by the of the day from laughing with the bridal party! What a great group of people. Jonathan and Sarah were married out at Blueberry Ridge Farm here in Monroe, WA. It's a BEAUTIFUL wedding venue with over 1100 blueberry bushes and restored barns. PERFECT place for a wedding! And the day and weather could not have been more perfect. I absolutely LOVE photographing newborns. They are so precious and itty-bitty and beautifully and wonderfully made! LOVE them! Today, I had the honor of photographing this beautiful 11-day old, baby Elle. I was a little ambitious with choosing which props I wanted to use for her shoot. Probably had a good 10 props ready and rearing to go! However, Elle had a different plan and chose some GREAT props that she finally cozied up to. She was GREAT fun! Could have held and stared at her for hours. CONGRATULATIONS Ben & Jayme on the birth of your beautiful baby girl!

Let me start out by saying, I absolutely love my lil' punkin! But WOW! I never realized how challenging it was to get 1-year photos of {my own} little one! Other children, NO PROBLEM. But photographing my little one, much harder. However, I recently got a new prop {the wagon} that brings in some fun for busy 1-year olds. Tiny Treasures {Birthday Session} Monroe, WA Portrait Photographer

I have such a blast photographing this young man! This is the second year that I have done his birthday portraits, along with his brother's and sister's birthday portrait and they are always a blast! As soon as I opened my car door I was greeted with BIG smiles and LOTS of questions; "Is that your camera? Where are we taking my pictures? Are you ready yet? Should we take my pictures here? How bout here?" Love it! And the thing I enjoy the most is that they are always SO excited that it's THEIR day for a photo shoot! Yesterday was Mr. Austin's 8th birthday. His mom and I were reflecting on how fast time goes by. In fact, I was reading his mom's blog {who also happens to be a good friend of mine} about the day Austin was born. Austin was struggling to survive in his mommy's tummy, so at 27 weeks gestation, the Dr's decided to deliver him via C-section because he had a better chance of surviving outside the womb rather than in. He weighed 1 pound 2 ounces when he was born. My eyes teared up as I read the blog post {and do now as I type} because as a mommy, the fears and instincts to protect increase a hundredfold when you have a baby. Dr's told Austin's parents that he would grow up with many health issues. However, through prayer and really a miracle, he's a healthy, vibrant 8-year old! Many HAPPY BIRTHDAY wishes to you, Austin! I am in LOVE with this lil' man! He was SOOOOOOO much fun to photograph! His rolls, squishy tushy, and baby blues are to DIE for! Not to mention he's a whoppin' 22lbs of LOVE! SOOOOOOOO adorable! We've had TWO straight days of sunshine and I am LOVING it! And since it was so nice out, Jerry and I decided to do another {first} with Brooklynn and have her try out her new bathing suit and see what she thought of the hose. I had an inckling that she would love it since she was sticking her hands in the water while I was watering our garden this morning and giggling. So as soon as Jer got home from work we went out back to play. She had a blast! I filled up a CF card in less than an hour while she was playing :) Can you tell I'm a mom with a camera!? Anyhow, here's our lil' punkin' having a blast!

I have always LOVED antique and garage sale shopping because you just never know what types of treasures you might find! Well, about 2 years ago my eyes were opened even more to the fun props that can be used for newborn shoots when I ran across Carrie Sandoval and Brittany Woodall with Baby As Art out of San Diego, CA who have revolutionized newborn photography. I draw a lot of my newborn inspiration from these two as they do INCREDIBLE work! Well, the other day while Jerry and I were on a walk we decided to pop in to M&M Antiques here in Monroe just for the fun of it and ran across this AWESOME avocado green scale! I couldn't pass it up!
