[ REAL LIFE ]
Follow my personal Instagram account for a glimpse into my day to day shenanigans!

@michellecnewell

My Grandma Jean loved pretty mugs. In some ways, they were part of her signature.
.
I received a few of her mugs after she passed away and I can't bring myself to use them for fear that I will break one. They aren't expensive mugs, but the meaning far outweighs the value of them.
.
I recently found this mug at a thrift store and it immediately reminded me of my Grandma. She was genuine through and through. She loved God with all her being and loved people beyond any words I can describe. She was a strong pillar, but soft and approachable.
.
I would love to be an ounce of the woman she was. I miss her dearly and wish we could have a cup of coffee together now that I am an adult. There would be so much more that I would ask her. So much more that I would love to glean from her wisdom.
.
She passed away over 2 years ago, but dementia took her much earlier...
.
Until we meet again in Heaven, I will salute my Grandma from this pretty mug. ♡
I love them.
These beauties make my backyard smell like Hawaii. And it is oh so divine! Love my Jadmine plant! Anyone know if I can make my own essential oil of it?
If you want to see results in life, the word "EASY" has to leave your vocabulary.
.
When I started my business @michellenewellphotography, it wasn't easy. But I took the challenge. When I started homeschooling, it wasn't easy. But we've come a long way! When I started working out regularly, results didn't come over night. But with consistency, they have.
.
Stop looking for the "quick fix." The next "results in 30 days." The "easy." If it doesn't challenge you, it WON'T change you.
.
Make your goals a habit AND a life style.
I love my herb plants. They smell soooooo good and are so beautiful when they bloom. I wish you could scatch-n-sniff your screen to smell my Lemon Thyme. I need a good recipe to use it with. Have any ideas?
Oh, excuse me fat cat. Are we in your way? Just trying to do some grammer over here while you hog the desk. 😹
We went on a walk and picked some wild flowers. ♡
Someone just went potty, [albeit, not on purpose] on the toilet!!!! He wanted to sit on jie-jie's [older sister in Chinene] toilet and then we heard the tinkle tinkle of a magical sound. Hopefully this new found excitement will become a regular thing!!!
When we said yes to adoption, we also said yes to a child with special needs, which we would later learn was #PKU. I knew NOTHING about PKU other than my daughter received a PKU test at the hospital after she was born. And whatever that test was, she didn't have it. So that was the end of that.
•
Little did I know that 8 years later, we would fall in love with a little boy from China with PKU who would become out son. It is scary entering uncharted waters I had never known before. But God reminded me (over and over again) that HE had this. That HE would provide, I just [simply] had to obey.
•
His diet may be restricted, but I have had fun being challenged with ways to create and make things that look similar to our meals. To create recipes and discover recipes that he can enjoy.
•
Today I made PKU friendly mini waffles and Buckwheat Waffles for the kids. Can you guess which one is gluten free and vegan?
Quiet mornings are my jam. I love getting up early and slowly emerging into the world. The birds are loud, the air is cool, and the kids are still asleep! ♡
