Moments... They happen quickly.
I love that my job captures memories that are forever frozen in time. Moments that we can't relive. Moments that are framed and placed on the walls of people's homes. Moments that bring back memories, giggles, tears...
These images are more than just "baby pics." More than just something "cute." They are moments in history that will make a mother stop in her tracks and remember the day her child was born. Moments that will make her remember the soft baby skin and sweet smell of infantry. Moments that daddy will remember the first time his daughter locked eyes with him and giggle. THIS is why I do what I do. Why I capture moments today - because I know for a fact that they will be forever cherished, not just by this generation, but by generations to come.
I look back at images of my daughter and the memories I have make me want to freeze time so that she would stop growing so quickly. So that she will always fit on my lap. So that I can always pick her up and hold her... Obviously reality is that I cannot do that. But I can gaze at the images that were taken of her and remember. This I am grateful for.
I take portraits for one reason: to preserve memories that will be cherished for those tomorrow's.
